Got Fire?
Bonfires are known to be the center of where community can created! Good conversations, great time with friends or family, Oh and I almost forgot...S'mores of course!
Everytime we get together community is formed through worship, prayer, fellowship, laughter and tears.
Since we meet once a month this not always done with a physical bonfire, thanks to the our geographical location. BUT, we always meet with the mindset that we are lighting up our spiritual fires in the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is likened by fire in three ways:
God's Presence
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) Romans 8:9
God's Passion
They said to each other, "Didn't our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?"
Luke 24:32
God's Purity
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the LORD tests the heart.
Proverbs 17:3
So we say Come Holy Spirit, come!! His Spirit in us proves God is with us, His passion in us reflects our desire to grow and His flame constantly burning in us produces genuine transformation.
