Discipleship

Jesus prepared a bonfire one morning for his disciples. While the wood crackled and sparks flew out onto the sand Jesus urged them to feed his sheep.  John 21:14-19

People matter to God.

Jesus' bonfire shows us what authentic community looks like.  He made himself available, gathered them together, shared a meal and started a conversation.  How did Christ know his disciples were ready to feed his sheep?  Because he spent time with them, he ate with them, he welcomed their questions, he cried in front of them, laughed with them and taught them.  He intentionally loved them deeply.

We do the same thing.

Not always around a bonfire, but always creating that same atmosphere no matter the location. As we discuss the issues of today's youth, we go beyond the chit chat and take them deep...with the intention to love deep with the Holy Spirit's help.

The Holy Spirit does the work.

We are just the vessels.  The Holy Spirit transforms each life and produces spiritual fruit as character, holiness and maturity are being formed by God's Word.

Matthew 28:18-20

The Great Comission

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
